A decade ago I heard the diagnosis of "#PsoriaticArthritis", an #AutoImmune Disease where one's immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue...in this case, my joints and skin. #PsA is a close cousin to #RheumatoidArthritis, except that it also attacks the skin. I have had #Psoriasis since I was a child, so that aspect of it was nothing new to me. But becoming part of the 30% of Psoriatic patients who develop the Arthritic aspect...took my breath away for awhile.
Learning what worked
Reducing toxins and allergen triggers was a major relieving element.
Along my journey, I've encountered many options and treatments, many skin specific but learning more and more about systemic options as my disease progresses. One of the many things I've learned is to reduce the #toxins and #allergentriggers in one's life because then your body is fighting less #inflammation in the first place. As I continue my own journey with diet and internal medicine...one of the most profound discoveries I encountered for myself was that I could do something about my own #skincare and reduce my skin based inflammation in a major way.
An Idea was Formed
That's where #CtrlAltDelete came from. A reboot of myself, of my thought patterns, of my skincare routines and product usage. When I learned of all the synthetic heavy ingredients, and lack of true #natural basis...I set out to find out what I could do for myself. It started with a lip balm, some essential oils, and various #salves for deep hydration and simple care....and just snowballed from there.

It starts somewhere...but it truly starts with YOU.
My skin LOVES the #naturalingredients I am able to incorporate into my recipes. I feel wonderful about knowing exactly what is in the product I am applying to my skin, and even more love being able to support well-chosen material suppliers, with #sustainable or #fairtrade practices wherever I can. And now...I feel honored that I have the opportunity to share my #soaps, #bodybutters, and #lipbalms with YOU!
